Naming in two languages, without a translation.

In the Gulf, a name lives in two scripts at once. The mistake is to name in English and translate.

In the Gulf, a name lives in two scripts at once. The mistake is to name in English and translate. The better approach is to name for both at the same time and accept that the two versions will not be identical, only equivalent.

What we look for

We look for names that are short in both scripts, that sound natural when said aloud in either language, and that avoid meanings that shift between dialects. A name that works in Cairo and Dubai is not guaranteed to work in Riyadh, and the reverse is also true.

The tagline is the hard part

English taglines are often built on wordplay that has no Arabic equivalent; Arabic taglines can carry rhythm and rhyme that English flattens. We write both from the same idea, not the same words, and test them with people who will actually read them.

Then we check the rest: domains, trademark classes, social handles, and how the name behaves in a logo when set in two scripts side by side. Naming is not finished until the identity can hold it.
